Israel Vallarta, who has been imprisoned since 2005 for being the alleged leader of the Zodico criminal group, was released after he tested positive for COVID-19 on May 18 and was admitted to the General Hospital in a delicate state. from the West of Zoquipan, Jalisco.

In accordance with the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that the former partner of the Frenchwoman, Florance Cassez, had been re-admitted to the Federal Center for Social Reintegration Number 2 in Puente Grande, Jalisco, after he presented an improvement in his state of health.

The SSPC reported in a newsletter that lThe relatives of the alleged kidnapper were informed of his state of health, according to the stipulated protocols by the Decentralized Administrative Body for Prevention and Social Readaptation (OADPRS), which maintains coordination with state and federal authorities to implement preventive measures for the pandemic the country is going through.

In accordance with the authorities handling the case, Israel and his brother Mario are the alleged leaders of the criminal organization known as Los Zodiaco, which started operating since 2001 in the Mexico City, State of Mexico and Morelos. However, during four federal administrations (Vicente Fox, Felipe Calderón, Peña Nieto and what goes on with López Obrador) the guilt of the accused could not be verified. Contrastingly, many inconsistencies have come to light in the case.

It all started on December 9, 2005 when Israel Vallarta and his partner Florence Cassez were detained in the Rancho Las Chinitaslocated on the highway Mexico-Cuernavaca, where they allegedly released three kidnapped people.

The current wife of Israel Vallarta denounced that the Puente Grande prison does not have the necessary sanitary conditions to maintain the prisoners' healths, reason why it has become an important focus of infection to which the prison inmates are exposed.
